Security Issues for Visitors

The local organizing committee has carefully considered all aspects of security and places the utmost importance on this issue. In fact, security in Colombia has improved greatly during the last few years, which has increased the confidence of many people to come and invest and to have meetings in the country. There were over 1.25 million foreign visitors to Colombia in 2007, a 15% increase with respect to 2006. For more tourism related statistics you can see http://www.mincomercio.gov.co/eContent/newsdetail.asp?id=5896&idcompany=1 (in Spanish). Numerous international events of great impact occur in Colombia  every year. With respect to physics meetings, last year the International Meeting on Lepton Properties and the Cosmological Origin of Matter was organized by M. Losada and E. Nardi at the Recinto Quirama (where the School will be held). The event was very successful and obtained extremely positive feedback from the participants, which can be made available to those interested. It is worth noting that several of the participants are returning again this year, as well as other scientists who periodically spend some time visiting the local universities in Colombia.

The school will be held at a quiet location close to the international airport of Medellin, allowing easy access for the participants.
