Date and Place of the School
The 19th European School of High-Energy Physics will be held from 7-20 September 2011 in Moeciu, about 7 km from Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) in Transylvania, and 30 km from the historic city of Brasov. Moeciu is about 200 km north of Bucharest, the capital city of Romania.
The lectures and discussion sessions will take place using the conference facilities of the Cheile Gradistei complex where all of the participants will be accommodated.
The Cheile Gradistei complex has numerous sports and leisure facilities that will be available to the participants, including tennis, volleyball, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. It is located on a very picturesque site in the mountains.
Accommodation
The students, faculty and staff of the School will be lodged in the Cheile Gradistei complex. Students will share twin rooms with toilets and shower rooms.
The lecture hall and the rooms for the discussion sessions are also situated in the complex.
Breakfast, lunch and evening meals will be served in a restaurant within the complex. There is a bar where participants will be able to purchase drinks in the evenings.
Travel Arrangements
Students who are selected to attend the School should arrange to arrive in Moeciu for registration during the afternoon or evening of Wednesday 7 September. The school will end on the morning of Tuesday 20 September after breakfast.
Henri Coandă International Airport (airport code OTP), near Bucharest and about 200 km from Moeciu, has direct flights from many cities in Europe. There is a railway station at Brasov about 30 km from Moeciu.

Cost
The cost of the School will be 1600 Swiss Francs per student, and will cover tuition, board and lodging from dinner on Wednesday 7 September to breakfast on Tuesday 20 September 2011, as well as coffee, tea or cold drinks during the morning and afternoon breaks and some social activities. The fee does not include travel expenses from participants' home institutes to Moeciu and back.
For participants from some JINR Member States there may be special arrangements for paying the School Fee and for travel. For further information, please contact the JINR Organizing Secretary, Mrs. T.S. Donskova (see Enquires and Correspondence).
Details concerning the method of payment of the fee will be sent together with the acceptance letters.
Language
The working language of the School will be English. Participants must therefore have a good understanding of English to enable them to benefit from the School.
Proceedings
The School Proceedings will be published as a CERN Yellow Report in 2012. Each participant may receive one copy free of charge. Proceedings from earlier schools are available (see Previous Schools).
