Practical InformationDate and Place of the SchoolThe 20th European School of High-Energy Physics will be held from 6-19 June 2012 in La Pommeraye, Anjou, France. The lectures and discussion sessions will take place using the conference facilities of the Jardins de l'Anjou, where all of the participants will be accommodated. The Jardins de l'Anjou complex has numerous sports and leisure facilities that will be available to the participants, including swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, archery and table tennis. AccommodationThe students, faculty and staff of the School will be lodged in the Jardins de l'Anjou complex, either in the hotel or in cottages. Students will share twin rooms with toilets and shower rooms. The lecture hall and the rooms for the discussion sessions are also situated in the complex. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals will be served in a restaurant within the complex. There is a bar where participants will be able to purchase drinks in the evenings. Travel ArrangementsStudents who are selected to attend the School should arrange to arrive in La Pommeraye for registration during the afternoon or evening of Wednesday 6 June. The school will end on the morning of Tuesday 19 June after breakfast. La Pommeraye is about 30 minutes drive from the city of Angers, from where there are direct high-speed train (TGV) connections to Paris CDG airport, and about 60 minutes drive from the airport at Nantes. Information on transportation from Angers and Nantes to the place of the School will be communicated to the participants after the selection of the students has been completed. CostThe cost of the School will be 1700 Swiss Francs per student, and will cover tuition, board and lodging from dinner on Wednesday 6 June to breakfast on Tuesday 19 June 2012, as well as coffee, tea or cold drinks during the morning and afternoon breaks and some social activities. The fee does not include travel expenses from participants' home institutes to La Pommeraye and back. For participants from some JINR Member States there may be special arrangements for paying the School Fee and for travel. Details concerning the method of payment of the fee will be sent together with the acceptance letters. LanguageThe working language of the School will be English. Participants must therefore have a good understanding of English to enable them to benefit from the School. ProceedingsThe School Proceedings will be published as a CERN Yellow Report in 2013. Each participant may receive one copy free of charge. Proceedings from earlier schools are available (see Previous Schools). |
