Practical InformationDate and Place of the SchoolThe 26th European School of High-Energy Physics will be held from The lectures and discussion sessions will take place using the conference facilities of the Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea where all of the participants will be accommodated. The Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea has the following sports and leisure facilities: outdoor swimming pool, gym and tennis courts as well as its own private beach. AccommodationThe students, teachers and organisers of the School will be lodged in the Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea. Students will share twin rooms with en-suite facilities. Please note that the rooms will be allocated by the Organizers, mixing students of different nationalities. Some photographs of the hotel are shown below. The lecture hall and the rooms for the discussion sessions are also situated in the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals will be served in the hotel restaurant. There is a bar where participants will be able to purchase drinks in the evenings. Free wireless internet will be provided for all participants, but please note that the bandwidth will be very limited and coverage may be restricted to certain public areas of the hotel. Travel ArrangementsStudents who are selected to attend the School should arrange to arrive in Maratea for registration during the afternoon or evening of Wednesday 20 June. The School will end on the morning of Tuesday 3 July after breakfast. The organisers will provide free bus transport from and to the airport in Naples on the arrival and departure days; the timetable will be communicated to the participants in due course. CostThe cost of the School will be about 1550 Swiss Francs per student, and will cover tuition, board and lodging from dinner on Wednesday 20 June to breakfast on Tuesday 3 July, as well as coffee, tea or cold drinks during the morning and afternoon breaks and some social activities. The fee does not include travel expenses from participants' home institutes to Italy and back. For participants from some JINR Member States there may be special arrangements for paying the School Fee and for travel. Details concerning the method of payment of the fee will be sent to the selected students. LanguageThe working language of the School will be English. Participants must therefore have a good understanding of English to enable them to benefit from the School. ProceedingsThe School Proceedings will be published as a CERN Yellow Report in 2019. Each participant may receive one copy free of charge. Proceedings from earlier schools are available (see Previous Schools). |
